Hey, Hey, Hey, It’s Father’s Day!

Paul is one of our amazing Marley Spooners who reached out to us recently. Here’s what he had to say about Marley Spoon and his perfect Daddy's Day.

"I have been a customer for about 6 months now. I can’t tell you how pleased I am. I really enjoy food and cooking but have always found it too hard to find the recipes and the ingredients to consistently make this a reality. The recipes and quality of ingredients are incredible, especially the chicken, and the easy to follow instructions aren’t too taxing after a hard days work. Thank you for giving me the gift of delicious. My wife is also incredibly appreciative that she gets meals made for her during the week. Thanks guys, you have genuinely changed my life!" - Paul, NSW

So what does the perfect Father’s Day look like to a happy Spooner?

What does Father’s Day mean to you?

Father’s Day to me is a day that I get to spend with my family. I get to celebrate my dad, and also get lots of love from my kids and wife. I know it’s a cliché but for me, every day is Father’s Day, because I have a great family who keep me on my toes and make me laugh every day. Now that I do most of the cooking (thanks to you guys), it’s also a day I get to hang up my apron and enjoy a home cooked meal from my amazing wife who is an amazing cook - much better than me!

Does breakfast in bed feature?

It does! We haven’t quite mastered the poached egg in our household, but I usually get a lovely cup of tea, some Vegemite toast and an orange juice - which I love!

How does sharing a meal with family and friends make you feel?

Food brings people to together, and we solve many a problem (or fight, when it comes to the boys) around the dinner table. On Father’s Day, we usually have a picnic at our favourite park and the family all get together. We all bring something to the table and it ends up being a mish mash of things that all go together in the end.

Best Father’s Day gift ever?

Hmmm - well my sons are 5 and 8 right now so I’m mostly getting handmade gifts. I’d have to say the cards over the years have been great. And the “World’s Greatest Dad” mug I got one year. I have my morning coffees in that most days.

Pick a meal from this week’s menu for Sunday

It’s gotta be the One-Pan Beef and Pork Polpette. I love Italian food and you can’t beat a one-pan recipe. The boys will love it, and my wife is Italian so she’s got the meatball making technique down pat. We’ll probably all get our hands dirty and make this together. We’ve just started getting our oldest son, Billy, involved in some of the more difficult parts of cooking. He loves it!
