“You can’t go wrong with pizza at any party or get-together, but a deep dish pizza is on a whole-nother-level.
I’ve created a nod to this for Marley Spoon, as the recipe is quite involved and we want to make life easier, especially for a party.” – Olivia Andrews
A deep-dish pizza originated in Chicago, and as the name suggests, the crust is very deep and resembles more of a pie or a bowl. The thick layer of toppings used in deep-dish pizza usually requires a longer cooking time, which can cause the toppings to burn, so the ingredients are assembled upside down with the cheese on the bottom, and the sauce on top.
This recipe is from Olivia Andrews’ TV show, Three Veg and Meat, where the Marley Spoon co-founder cleverly reimagines family favourites so they’re veggie-heavy and super-nutritious.
